From the Hen’s Point of View

We recently held a wonderful Memory Book workshop in Bath and we asked some of the cratfy hens to share their thoughts with us about the session, the experience and the special Memory Book they all created together.

Maid of Honour - Michelle
As most Maid of Honour's know the task of planning a hen do can be daunting, often complicated and not short of a headache or two. Working with Julie to organise our craft session was the complete opposite! Julie tailored our craft to exactly meet the Brides criteria, with a few creative extras added in to make the session extra special and fun! She helped me make sure the hen's were fully prepared with information on what to bring along beforehand as well as helping source a venue to run the session. Communication was always speedy and helpful and she showed flexibility where details were sometimes late being confirmed. Thanks Julie for a brilliant session and making our Bride one very happy lady!

Bride-To-Be - Verity
Thanks so much to Julie and her team at the Crafty Hen for my wonderful memory book crafting session. Julie had liaised with my Maid of Honour before the day to invite all my hens to bring special photos and mementos of our friendships. We spent a lovely relaxing couple of hours collaging beautiful memory pages to put together into a one-off keepsake book for me. My Maid of Honour is going to present the book to me at the wedding and I think it’s going to become one of my most treasured wedding gifts! Throughout the session, our session leader was a great, relaxed teacher. She explained clearly to everyone what we were making, and moved around the group making sure all my hens were happy, answering questions etc. We were provided with a fantastic selection of beautiful papers and other collage bits (buttons, flowers, stencils etc.), and it was really nice that Julie and her team had taken the trouble to find out about my love of all things Victorian and my wedding colours beforehand (there were lots of beautiful 19thC inspired materials to pick from). While all the other girls worked on the book, I worked on a special collaged picture frame for a pic of all my hens together. It's going to take pride-of-place in my office at home. Thanks again for a super crafty hen session!

Close friend of Bride - Rhi
I have to say that I was feeling a little worse for wear when I rocked up at the café for the Crafty Hen session. I wasn’t sure that I could be trusted with glue, let alone scissors. However, after being fortified with some excellent cake I was good to go. We made a memory book and ironically I had forgotten to bring my photos. However, we were supplied with a really nifty version of a polaroid camera and we were able to record the hen do itself. Julie helped me develop a really nice design and with her guidance I managed to construct a passable resemblance of the Clifton Suspension Bridge out of card. As much as this is a fun activity, we all just really wanted to make something nice for the bride-to-be. What was great about The Crafty Hen is that they take your really basic idea and advise you on how to pick the right materials and construction methods it in a way that made it looks fantastic. When I saw the finished book at the wedding I couldn’t really believe that we had put it together!

It is always lovely to hear how pleased our hens are with their experience and also how they impress even themselves with the wonderful things they manage to create in a short amount of time! See the gorgeous memory book created for Verity by her hens below or see more examples of on the workshop listing.

If you like the idea of creating a Memory Book at a hen party you are planning, come say hello and find out more.
