Advice & GUIDANCE
Updated 28th September 2020 to extend postpone window from 18 months to 2 years.
Updated 11th Jan 2021 to extend postpone window from 2 to 3 years.
As it stands, we have every intention and will endeavour to provide you with your full workshop and Crafty Hen experience to the very best of our abilities. We want to reassure you that we have extra precautionary measures already in place for all our sessions, to protect yourself, everyone in your group as well as our own team.
We will be reviewing the below advice regularly and as any changes are advised by the government or relevant local authorities, we will act accordingly.
Given the uncertainty regarding the virus' potential spread in particular geographical areas, we cannot be more specific about how this may affect individual events at this time. But rest assured, we will strive to keep you informed as the situation continues to develop.
Should you or anyone in your group be affected by any of the below, please contact us as soon as possible. The more notice we have of any potential issues or disruption to the planned event, the more options we have available to assist in finding an appropriate and feasible solution to the situation to the best of our ability.
At this time, we kindly require your cooperation on the below.
Check in with your group
Ahead of your session we politely ask that you chat with your all members of your party to discuss the possibility of anyone who may have been in contact with COVID-19, or are displaying symptoms of coronavirus to contact NHS 111, follow their guidance and update us accordingly.
If any of your group are traveling from outside the UK for the event, please ask them to check government guidelines and advice, and use sensible precautions as to whether to travel.
Should anyone be displaying any symptoms, please do not attend the session, and contact us regarding this.
Hygiene
On the day of, and during the workshop, we ask that everyone follows good hygiene practices as outlined by the Department of Health and Social Care and the NHS.
Our workshop team will request each member of the group to thoroughly wash their hands at the start of / throughout the workshop. Please do not take offence at this; it is for the benefit of all in attendance on the day and to reduce any potential risk, both to yourselves, and our team.
We respectfully request that everyone adheres to social distancing at all times as required and advised by the government.
Individual members of our workshop team may have reasonable additional requirements which they will make clear on the day.
If any member of your group does not wish to cooperate with these requests, it is at the discretion of the workshop leader on the day as to whether the workshop continues / the individual can participate. No refund or compensation will be applicable in the instance of the workshop team not being confident that running the workshop can proceed in a safe way.
At this time, we strongly advise against eating any food alongside your workshop. Drinks are fine, but please be considerate of good hygiene practices as outlined by the Department of Health and Social Care.
Venue
Should your event be set to take place in a public venue (bar, restaurant, tea rooms, etc.) please strongly consider that the current view seems to be that bars / pubs may not be operating at a normal level for sometime to come. We would suggest moving the event to a private venue (at home, community hall, holiday let, etc.) with social distancing measures respected. With more than four weeks notice, we may be able to accommodate relocating your workshop to another part of the UK should it be easier for you to have the event a little closer to home, or somewhere more convenient for guests to travel to, for example.
Where possible, holding the workshop outdoors, weather permitting, would be preferred to allow for better ventilation. However, moving the workshop indoors should the weather be wet, too windy or too hot is no problem as long as social distancing can still be adhered to. When indoors, we invite you to wear masks for your own safety, and the safety of our team.
We’re sure it goes without saying if you or anyone in your party are unwell and are displaying any symptoms of Coronavirus, please contact NHS 111.
Booking Term Amendments due to Coronavirus
When booking your workshop, you would have seen our booking terms as set out on the website. We wish to try and be as flexible as possible should any problems arise in the coming weeks, our priority is to assist you to enjoy a crafty hen experience to the very best of our ability. As such, we’ve taken the step to amend some of the original booking terms for your benefit.
Please note these only apply to Coronavirus and and are not general changes to our booking terms. Amended terms are set out below:
Changes to Booking
(i). If your booking is more than four weeks away:
Where possible, we will try to accommodate any requests to amend the main event details, (including, but not limited to; location, workshop activity, event date, etc.), made after your booking has been confirmed but is more than four weeks away from the event, but cannot guarantee being able to do so. Where amendments are achievable, there may be additional charges, however we will strive to avoid this where possible.
You could consider a virtual workshop experience instead. Enjoy an online crafty party hosted by your workshop leader instead for an equal or comparable activity. Guests can join in a live online workshop from the comfort of their own homes, where they have access to Wifi and a laptop, or large screen (ideally bigger than a phone). We’ll send materials out in advance of the date to everyone taking part.
You are welcome to switch to ordering our DIY craft kits in lieu of a workshop for an equal or comparable activity. Your £100 deposit paid will be deducted from an order of kits.
Should you need to postpone the event to a later date, the deposit paid will be transferable to a future date within three years of the original event date. Rescheduled dates can take place at another location around the UK, be for a different workshop and group size.
We can refund 50% of the monies paid. Opting for a refund will mark the booking as cancelled. If you want to plan another event in the future, it will be treated as a new booking. Remaining 50% is not transferrable at a later date.
(ii). If you confirm your booking at the four week stage, and thereafter the planned event is not be able to go ahead in full, (whether that is down to key individuals in your group having to enter self-isolation, travel restrictions, or illness within our team), we will endeavour to help as much as possible and discuss options available to hopefully come to a solution where your group still get to enjoy a creative experience. These will likely be considered on a case-by-case basis as we look to work closely with you to come to the best available solution based on your individual requirements, and the wider situation. Options include, but are not limited to:

Offering virtual workshops of an equal or comparable activity where logistically possible, for all guests to enjoy from the comfort of their own homes. We’ll send materials out in advance of the date to everyone taking part and as such we need at least 2 weeks notice for this. We will refund the difference.
